pretty simple way to spread plants out and space them however you want. i do this to a lot of the plants i grow, especially if i am growing regular seeds and really fill the space going into flower and then have to spread the females out a bit. the picture was that exact case.

you can cut them to whatever length you need. i end up reusing them because they aren't ever wet, so they never rot and they're not rough on the branches. you could tape the edges if you're worried, but i've never cut into a branch or stem doing this.
